The research of underwater acoustic communication and network focuses on the remote and high robustness of underwater acoustic communication system, modulationmethod, coding measures, hardwaredesign, etc.Based on above theories, the research on the underwater acoustic network and application research was proposed, which is reliedonunderwater multimedia sensor network.

  

Research content1: Research on Shallow Water Acoustic Communication Technique

The research of shallow water acoustic communication technique focuses on steady and high-speed communicationinshallow waterwith strong multipath interference. This study aimsatcarrying outthe research of high robust instruction communication, multimedia acoustic transmission and processingbased on the acoustic mediumin shallow water acoustic channel. We launch a series of researchon this subject, and emphasize particularly on the research of weak signal detection and processing, new types of underwater communication and perceivableunderwater multimedia communication, etc.

  

Research content 2: Covert Underwater Acoustic Communication and Detection

Covert underwater acoustic communication and the characteristic analysis of covert underwater acoustic communication signal are the key technology in underwater information warfare. Unlike theunderwater acoustic communication network, which focuses on the communication rate and the capability of multimedia service, this study emphasizes the concealment of communicationand the sensitivityto detection of weak signals. Its main technologies can also adapt to underwater acoustic sensor network, underwater acoustic warning network and other platform applications.This research points include acquiring character of signal andcovert underwater acoustic communication method.

  

Research content3: Underwater Acoustic Sensor Network and Application

Underwater acoustic sensor networkhas become a new hotspot in the research of underwater acoustic communication and network. This research focuses on the networking and application of underwater acoustic network. The underwater acoustic communication, based on trusted side service feature,makes underwater acoustic communication system adaptively adjusting and choosing the method of multimedia processing and transmission mechanism. The key technology researches of physical layer, data link layer and network layer in the multimedia under acoustic communication network include source compression, channel error correction, modulationmethod, MAC and routing protocol. Application technology research of underwater acoustic sensor network mainly includes voice information acquisition and reconstruction based on sensor network, high-speed and robust transmission, precise location and tracking, network collaborative detection, underwater information awareness and fusion,etc.Besides,the inter-connectivity of underwater sensor network and wireless network (and satellite system) is also of great significance.
